18 “Golden Nuggets” from our Marketplace Meetings so far in 2018
Here are just a few of the numerous “golden nuggets” I’ve received from the presentations at our marketplace ministry breakfasts and luncheons during the past five months:
- Hope is not a strategy.
- Does your core team have an agreement on the definition of leadership?
- See the future and lead into it.
- Value results and relationships (equally).
- Leaders serve.
- The four main types of people who attend meetings:
- Dominant (does well with keeping order / may tend to be too controlling)
- Expressive (willing to share good things / may tend to hog the time)
- Analytical (takes great notes and offers good insight / too critical at times)
- Amiable (reliable helper and contributor / a follower more than a leader)
- Culture affects creativity.
- An idea is at least two former things combined in a new way.
- The need for innovation is increasing and we need to catch up.
- CREATE—get out of the rut of how it’s been done before!
- Stay on the path—don’t take the right turn of disappointment and judgment or the left turn of dejection and depression.
- You don’t attract who you want, you attract who you are.
- The leader is the ideal prototype of the group member in the eyes of the group.
- The Miracle of leadership: to make champions out of ordinary people.
- Real change that is sustainable happens when (their) sense of identity changes.
- What you believe is where you belong.
- The heart of the matter is a matter of the heart.
- Whatever people see and hear consistently over time will put their lives on auto-pilot.
If you haven’t been to one of our breakfasts or luncheons at all, or we haven’t seen you in awhile, I hope you’ll attend one of our events very soon so you can begin taking away your own “golden nuggets.” Amen.
